Children's Museum
How to convey the allure of auto-mobility to children?
Allow them to climb
up through a fantasy of an enormous engine, look out from a
prow, and slide back down…
JMA collaborated with the team at
Volkswagen’s Autostadt and VolkeKommunikationsdesign and Henn Architekten to create a children’s interactive museum
near the entrance to Autostadt (Auto-City) in Wolfsburg, Germany.
Volkswagen’s automobile factory in
Wolfsburg is the largest automobile factory in the world. The Autostadt was developed to create a holistic experience for customers visiting the factory to collect new cars. JMA consulted extensively with the Autostadt team and
executed three projects.
The goal of the project was to nurture the
spirit and adventure of auto-mobility tin children between the ages of 4 and 10.
A four-story engine with interactive features inside and a four story slide.
JMA provided conceptual ideas for the
design-build team led by VolkeKommunikationsdesign with the assistance of WelpArchitekten and HennArchitekten and the team at Autotstadt
