Promethean Garden

Description: The “Promethean Garden” for Promega Corporation.
Promega is at the cutting edge of biotechnology and molecular technology. They create products for dna testing, corona virus testing and are researching bio-luminescence, psilocybin and DMT.
Prometheus stole fire from the gods for people and was punished by the gods. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley’s “Frankenstein” is subtitled “The New Prometheus”, exploring morality and scientific research.
The Promethean Garden is a communal open air gathering area outside Promega’s newest lab. It is composed of locally sourced limestone, local boulders, punctuated by indigenous plantings arranged to create three terraced seating levels surrounding a central sculpture. The sculpture is composed boulders, river stones and a bronze a garden of 96% recycled, locally cast bronze and spun copper sculptures, wired and plumbed to breathe fire.

BrueBodhi Riff
Dimensions: about 21’-0”H x 21’—0” W x 3’-0”D
Location: Los Angeles
Description: “Brue’Bohdi Riff”, inspired by cool west coast jazz.
Façade: composed of an exposed frame of matte black painted structural steel, sheathed in 90% recycled, oxidized steel.
Sculptures are mixed media, all hand-carved. Some are cast in 94% recycled cast magnesium-aluminum alloy, then machined and hand-polished and matte powder coating, others are clad in burnished metals over a glass reinforced substrate.

Joy (Knapp) Memorial

Location: Chicago, Joy Faith Knapp Children’s Center - permanent
Description: “Joy Memorial” celebrates the life of Joy Faith Knapp. The Joy Faith Knapp Center in Chicago aids children with learning disabilities. It has been funded by the life work of Joy Faith Knapp, who died in her early forties. To celebrate Joy’s life, the sculpture inverts the concept of a cemetery. Stone monuments set in a forest/garden become organic forms growing out of stone and creating a space for congregation. Composition: reinforce concrete foundation, stone and ceramic mosaic, and hand carved sculptures locally cast in 96% recycled red bronze, hand polished and patinated.

“Now’s the Time”

Location: Bellagio Resort Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada
Description: A synesthetic sculptural cover of Charlie Parker’s “Now’s the Time”. Drawings and paintings were used for analysis, then we hand-carved maple sculptures. These forms were cast in Chicago in 95% recycled red bronze, hand polished and patinated
