The adaptation of an office building to create an 95,000 square foot museum employing interactive technology to allow patrons to explore subjects in depth.
This concept was created in the period preceding prevalent use of the Internet. Guests entered an auditorium for a live theatrical introduction to the exhibition. Visitors then flowed into gallery areas equipped with screens loaded with proprietary information allowing visitors to delve as deeply as they cared to into scholarly research prepared by the museum. Vitec housed two theaters and two interactive galleries outfitted with 25 multi-screen presentation pods as well as a restaurant, a museum shop, offices and research facilities. 30% of the construction of the project was completed.
