Conceiving guest room concepts for the adaptive reuse of a tight land-marked building in a changing neighborhood
Five-Star Hotel
328 Guest Rooms
JMA provided design architecture services for the conversion of the Carter office building, originally built in 1910 in downtown Houston, into a three hundred room JW Marriott hotel.
The location was a natural location for business travelers. JMA’s innovations in planning included glass wall partitions between
the bathroom and bedroom and configurations making the hotel attractive to weekend leisure travelers.
Gensler was responsible for the execution of the design and interiors.
