Chicago, Illinois
When the Chicago drum factory made famous by Ringo Starr became obsolete, JMA assisted the developer in reinventing it as artist’s lofts.
The Ludwig Drum factory was an amalgamation of seven buildings totaling about 200,000 square feet and including heavy timber lofts,
lighter masonry and wood structures and a ferroconcrete structure. The conversion of the buildings to live-work lofts contributed
to the revitalization of Chicago’s Bucktown-Wicker Park neighborhood.
