The Barre stools were created for Iridium, a jazz club in New York across from Lincoln Center's collection of theaters for ballet, symphony, theater and opera. The design was influenced by images from dance and music. As a teen, the artist was directed to attend dance classes by his frustrated springboard diving coach to improve his form. The design of the Barre Stools recalls the arched backs,
pointed toes and the legwarmers of the graceful women that at once fascinated and humbled the artist.
