Mulheim, Germany
High fashion dining in Heaven…
Himmelreich is a 120-seat café / lounge at the prototypical 450,000 square foot Department Store developed by JMA to reinvigorate the Karstadt business near Dusseldorf, Germany. Himmelreich (“Heaven”) is located in the high fashion section of the store. The design is a variation on the luxury goods area environment.
Himmelreich café and lounge design was developed by JMA for Karstadt Department stores. The store is located in Mulheim, n
ot far from Dusseldorf and very close to Karstadt’s head office in Essen.
A lounge overlooks the bar and dining room of the café. Lighting fixtures and partition sculptures and relief sculptures were
designed by JMA and manufactured near the project under JMA’s supervision.
