Las Vegas, Nevada
An icy raw bar melting in the desert for Bobby Baldwin, CEO of Mirage Resorts, with Chef John Schenk,
JMA created a 2,500 square foot bar featuring seafood in which the ceiling, column, bar and walls melt into the floor.
A glacial hollow
Melting in the neon desert of Las Vegas,
Cool Cerulean hues
A raw bar and bar,
Muted strip lights;
Red-pink shrimp, lobster and crab resting on tiered ice beds
All of the seating, lighting and metal work was
designed specifically for the project by Jordan Mozer
and Associates, Limited and manufactured
in Chicago by Mozer Studios.
The architectural framing was hand sculpted, digitized
and fabricated off site.
Hand sculpted seamless terrazzo bar die wall melts to
create the floor, with blue glass shards inset.

diffusing spheres
The bar-top and the refrigerated seafood display
are stainless steel.
The back bar cabinets are also CAD-CAM sculpted,
Kevlar-reinforced non-combustible resin with inset
panels of poured art-glass.
Barstools were hand sculpted and then digitized to be
cast in Kevlar-reinforced, non-combustible resin. Foot rests
and railing components were cast in 94% recycled
magnesium aluminum alloy.
Tabletops are composed of hand-polished glass mosaics
set into 94% recycled cast magnesium-aluminum
alloy framing.
Table bases are also CAD-CAM sculpted, automatically
cast, magnesium-aluminum alloy.
