Canters Chair Leather
A variation on the original 2003 Canter’s Lounge Chair.
The Canter’s chair was designed for JMA’s Canter’s Restaurant design for Bobby Baldwin at TI Resort Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s a contemporary riff on the 1953 mid-century modern 24- hourCanter’s Restaurant on Fairfax in Los Angeles, which became a late night hangout for stars of the music and movie industry.
PROCESS + MATERIALS
Wood hand carvings were cast in recycled magnesium-aluminum alloy, hand polished, and then patinated by rubbing the castings with elixirs. Photos illustrate variations upholstered in 100% wool flannel and leather. Made in Chicago.
