Relationship Trophy (Small)
THE STORY
Mozer first explored anthropomorphic “X” forms in Rock Opera sets for Mick Jagger and sculpted a variety of forms for the JMA Hotel design commissioned by Bill Marriott overlooking the “x” of Times Square. For their twentieth anniversary, Mozer awarded Karen with a relationship trophy, portraits of the couple, “x” being the Roman numeral for ten. The sculpture resonated with other couples and generated additional studies.
PROCESS + MATERIALS
Base: hand-carved reclaimed Red African Ironwood.
X's: hand-carved maple and cast in recycled red bronze, then hand polished.
