Hugging Hearts
Mozer’s meditation on, “What would Yin and Yang look like in three dimensions?".
Variations were produced for JMA’s Herzblut (“heart-blood” or passion) project in Hamburg, Germany. Other variations include paintings, jewelry, sculptures, tattoo designs, and gifts (especially for Karen Lilly Mozer). Variations presented at the exhibition “Herzblut... XOX” at Hilton Asmus Gallery in 2015.
PROCESS + MATERIALS
Sculptures are hand-carved in maple, cast in recycled red and white bronze. Hand-polished. Some have been bathed in elixirs and flames for a patina. Base: hand-carved reclaimed red African Ironwood. Made in Chicago.

East Hotel, Hamburg, Germany
East is the reincarnation of the bombed ruins of an old foundry Hamburg. It is now an boutique hotel featuring an Asian fusion menu.
DONUT CONCEPT
The hotel is built around an indoor/outdoor public space, or donut hole, created by sculpting portions of the foundry structure and excavating the yard between the foundry and a new guest room building.
FOUNDRY AND SURREALISM
The architecture, art and design elements convey spirits of the old foundry and the surreality a westerner feels the first time they are immersed in the East.
