This vase was originally designed as a holiday gift for the artist’s patrons, one of whom, Rich Melman of Lettuce Entertain You, requested a set of 50 for a Michelin two-star dégustation restaurant called Tru in Chicago. Thereafter, "The Lazy Vase" was renamed "The Tru-ly Lazy Vase.”
PROCESS + MATERIALS
Base: Hand-carved maple sculptures were cast in 92% recycled magnesium-aluminum alloy and then hand polished.
Vase: hand-blown glass. Each is unique and varies slightly in size and form.
DIMENSIONS VARY:
Small vase: about 4" long x 6.5" high x 2.5" wide
(10 cm x 16.5 cm x 6.3 cm)
Large vase: about 5.5" long x 9" high x 3" wide
(14 cm x 23 cm x 7.6 cm)
VARIATIONS
Available in two sizes. Each size is available either polished or dark patina base. A variety of glass colors are available. Glass blower's punty marks have been hand polished.
