Chicago, Illinois
Interior design and art selection for a 3,000 square foot private residence in a
historically significant building.
JMA consulted with owner to develop furniture plans and to assemble a collection of furniture and related decorative arts worthy of this important circa 1930 property by famed Chicago craftsman, Edgar Miller. Approximately 3000 sq. ft on five levels, this single family residence is as complex as it is unique, with historic influences ranging from medieval to Art Deco.
The furnishings needed to reflect the architecture without overwhelming it. JMA was responsible for the selection and placement of most every object in the home. Significant pieces including furniture and metal work by Gustav Stickley, Roycroft, Walter von Nessen, Warren MacArthur and Walter Dorwin Teague, lamps by Dirk van Erp, Tiffany and Fulper, compliment the owners’ vast collection of art and objects by Edgar Miller.
