Private Residence in a Landmark Building
The 37 story Art Deco Palmolive Building is a designated Chicago Landmark and listed in the National Registry of Historic Places. JMA’s design for the 5000 sq ft full floor apartment emphasizes a quiet elegance compatible with the architecture’s 1930’s scale and detailing, blending contemporary American pieces with Asian, Indian and European antique furniture and objects. Muted tones create a serene backdrop to the dynamic and ever changing colors of the magnificent Lake Michigan
views and dramatic downtown Chicago skyline.
JMA developed furniture plans, guided client with selection of pieces from their existing collection for reuse, and assisted with selection, procurement and installation of furniture, fabric, paint and window treatments, including custom dining suite, custom mirrors and customizing existing millwork as well as placement and installation of existing artwork.
