Chunk Wave Side Table - Sycamore
Hand Carved 4" Sycamore Slab Side Table Composed of Michigan Sycamore and Cast Magnesium-Aluminum, Jordan Mozer (b. 1958), USA, 2017. This piece is unique. Signed. 17" tall x 16" x 14" ( 43 cm tall x 40cm x 35 cm tall with a 10 cm thick top).
PROCESS + MATERIALS
Made in Chicago. The tabletop is a solid 4" thick slab of Michigan Sycamore, harvested from his family's land by a fellow named Richard who drys the wood in a solar kiln.
The slab was hand carved at Mozer Studios.
The base was hand-carved, then cast in recycled magnesium-aluminum, polished, brushed and then rubbed with elixirs to patina the metal. The base was originally created for Nectar Restaurant at Bellagio Resort Hotel in Las Vegas.
