The Paradise Leopold Dining & Conference Table was crafted for an art collector’s boutique hotel in Seoul, Korea.
JMA’s work for Paradise imagined a garden overlooking the Pacific. The table’s base was inspired by the melodic intertwining of flowers in a garden. Under its top, the petals of the base are anthropomorphized, suggestive of passionate holding hands. It was inspired by the character Leopold Bloom in “Ulysses” by James Joyce.
PROCESS + MATERIALS
Hand-carved wood sculptures were cast in recycled magnesium-aluminum, hand-worked, burnished, and welded. The Carrara marble top is 3/4" thick. Made in Chicago.
