Sea Elephant Table
Created for Paradise City, an art collector’s development in Seoul, Korea. JMA’s work imagined Paradise as a garden overlooking the Pacific.
This sculpture was inspired by elephant seals making love on beaches in Big Sur, California.
PROCESS + MATERIALS
Table Prototype. Hand-carved sculptures were digitally scanned. Black Wisconsin Walnut blocks were then robot-sculpted and hand-finished. The feet were hand-carved in plaster and then cast in recycled aluminum-magnesium alloy. Etched signature. Made in Chicago.
