6 Leg Sycamore Table
The 6 Leg Sycamore Table is a unique piece. The base forms were originally created for East, the conversion of an old foundry into a restaurant and boutique hotel in Hamburg, Germany. The top is a thick, hand-sculpted slab of Sycamore.
PROCESS + MATERIALS
The tabletop is a solid 4" thick slab of Sycamore, harvested from a Michigan forest by a fellow named Richard, who dries the wood in a solar kiln.
The base was hand-carved, then cast in recycled magnesium-aluminum, polished, brushed and then rubbed with elixirs to patina the metal. Made in Chicago.
