Nectar I.C.E. tables are unique. The tabletops were created for Nectar at the Bellagio resort hotel in Las Vegas, a bar imagined as an icy-cool solid melting in the desert; the ceiling melts into columns; the column and bar melt into the floor of terrazzo, flecked with glacier-toned glass mosaics—the same glass mosaics set into the I.C.E. tabletops. “I”, “C” and “E” are the first initials of the artist’s three children.
The legs for this table were developed for Victory, a restaurant in the Meadowlands, in 2013.
PROCESS + MATERIALS
The tabletop frame and base legs were hand-carved in maple and cast in recycled magnesium-aluminum alloy. Alaskan Glacier-blue glass mosaics were inset in the cast top and then hand polished, then metals were rubbed with acid to create a dark patina.
The legs for this table were hand-carved, digitally scanned, modified and then castin recycled aluminum-magnesium alloy. They have a burnished finish. Made in Chicago.
