Nectar ICE Side Tables
Nectar I.C.E. tables are unique. The tabletops were created for Nectar, a bar at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas which imagined an icy-cool solid melting in the desert. The ceiling melts into columns; the column and bar melt into the floor of terrazzo flecked with glacier-toned glass mosaics— the same glass mosaics set into the I.C.E. tabletops. “I”, “C” and “E” are the first initials of the artist’s three children.
The base is a modified version of the cast and fabricated base created for Nectar Bar in Las Vegas.
PROCESS + MATERIALS
The tabletops and bases were hand-carved and then cast in recycled aluminum-magnesium alloy. The mosaic is polished glass. The metals were hand polished and then bathed in elixirs to patina the metal.
