Spalted Sycamore Slab Cocktail Table
The Spalted Sycamore Slab Cocktail Table is unique. The Chunk Table collection was inspired by the natural beauty of wood slabs that we harvested from a fellow named Richard who collects the wood from his family’s land in Michigan and dries it himself in a solar kiln. Note the idiosyncrasies of the spalted wood surface.
The base form was originally created for Nectar Restaurant at Bellagio Resort Hotel in Las Vegas.
PROCESS + MATERIALS
The tabletop is a solid 4" thick slab of Michigan Sycamore. It was hand-carved and finished. The base was also hand-carved, then cast in recycled magnesium-aluminum, polished, brushed, then the darkened versions were rubbed with elixirs to patina the metal. Made in Chicago.
